Book Blog Hop 1/14-1/17

Book Blogger Hop

This meme is hosted by Crazy For Books. Head on over for some great reads!

This week’s question comes from Barb who blogs at Sugarbeat’s Books:

Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?

I’ve never considered myself a genre reader. I read too many genres to count! I enjoy nonfiction books, because I enjoy learning about History (especially!) and the world around me. I love England, especially the Regency area, so I enjoy reading Regency fiction as well. It’s one time period I would like to visit. I have spent a good deal of time in Montana, so I enjoy frontier fiction as well. This is an area and era I can relate to, as I have pioneered missions in the area, much like the westward venturers went into lands unknown to build their lives. I also enjoy Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I always have. This is a genre I love to watch, and I love to read about it more.

So that’s me. I can’t pick one genre, and I love several for several different reasons!

Hopping through. I haven’t read a lot of regency fiction, but I love Georgette Heyer (who I think of as regency fiction). Do you like her books?

My Hop

Love your answer to the hop question! And I’d love to read more about your frontier missions; intriguing!

Thanks! I have not read Georgette Heyer yet – thank you for suggesting her! I will need to get one of her books and start reading. As for my missions, I will need to post about that someday soon. In short, I worked with Native Americans and ranchers in Montana. It’s a blast!

Thanks for stopping by! I had a funny conversation with a
friend recently about calling someone a ‘genre’ fan, since
everybody is a genre fan of some sort, not just
scifi/fantasy/paranormal fans. I read a bit of frontier fiction,
though mainly Canadian frontier 😄 Lexie

Just hopping by! I enjoyed reading your thoughts.
